Nérée Cornuz (27) Switzerland
has purchased an engine-less Lello 34 yacht in Cape Town which he is currently sailing singlehanded 8,000 miles to the Mediterranean. He has had to overcome broken rigging and troubles with his homemade wind vane self steering during the voyage but is persevering.
Born and raised on his parent's ketch, Cornuz completed his first Atlantic ocean crossing at the age of 2. He has been sailing and racing all kind of boats ever since. For the past 6 years he has been an officer in the Merchant Navy, but has now set up base as a sailing instructor in Geneva, Switzerland.
